4IP - Call out for digital suppliers

Posted by Victoria Tillotson in News on 04.08.08

South West Screen is working with Channel 4 in the development of the 4IP fund. The fund is a collaboration between Channel 4 and a network of partners across the UK and aims to deliver publicly valuable content and services on digital media platforms.

Ahead of launch Channel 4 is creating a new supplier database for the 4IP fund comprising digital media, serious games, social computing, mobile and web services across the South West.

4IP is expressly not a TV fund. The emphasis is on new original media. Although Channel 4 and partners do not want to place any restraints on what 4IP can invest in, there are expectations that the projects are likely to focus on computer-aided social networks, peer-to-peer technologies, mobile media, collaborative knowledge networks, user-generated content and platforms, global to local online journalism or broadcasting, imagined and alternative life networks, interactive learning & leisure etc.

4IP will be fully operational by autumn 2008 - if you would like to be included on the database visit http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=Y0XMi0VBdJJRDWoG4Rf7HA_3d_3d to fill in a short questionnaire.
