B&NES Council has confirmed that Bath Spa University's tender bid for development at the South Quays site in Bath has been successful. Students studying subjects relating to creative and digital arts will benefit from a new campus offering the most advanced teaching methods and industry standard equipment, preparing them for work in the region's creative industries.
Bath Spa University has been designated as a national Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning for its work relating to the creative industries, and undergraduate applications to the University were up 23% from last year. Vice Chancellor Professor Frank Morgan says, 'We are delighted by this news and by the opportunity it presents both to young people embarking on their university careers and the city's economy'.
