Bristol Science City Launches

Posted by Victoria Tillotson in News on 12.03.08

Bristol Science City launched last week with a series of events, lectures and demonstrations as part of National Science and Engineering week.

Bristol was one of six UK cities designated Science Cities in 2005, acknowledging the city's scientific heritage, world class academic research and innovative SMEs. Sarah-Jane Chilcott of Science City Bristol says, 'Bristol City region is know for its scientific heritage and its links with Brunel, but the depth and breadth of this scientific culture is often underestimated. Everything from plasticine to self-raising flour to mobile phones has been developed in this region'

A further programme of events will roll out across the city during the next few weeks, raising the profile of Bristol's science, engineering and technology industry.
