On 14 June, NESTA launched Connect, a new £4-£5m fund to develop a portfolio of projects over the next four years. The total NESTA Connect budget for 2007/11 is approximately £4m-£5m.
There is currently no specific limit on the amount of funding available, but they anticipate Connect will support no more than 10-12 projects at any one time, which meet their themes:
- examine different models of collaboration and the extent to which they support new innovation;
- explore indifferent types of collaborative innovation, and identify connections between them and successful innovation;
- showcase successful models of collaborative innovation and assess their potential for scaling and replication;
