The Technology Strategy Board announced a new Innovation Platform on Assisted Living on 8 November 2007. The aim of the platform is to advance the technology to meet the demand for independent living from people suffering from chronic long term conditions. The TSB will initially fund short term R&D projects in areas such as home-based intelligent processing, value added services for well being and health management with a budget of around £6.5m.
